Child Rescue. Kenya, in East Africa, is full of natural beauty. Nairobi is Kenya’s thriving capital city, with 44 million people. The country lies on the equator and shares borders with Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia and the Indian Ocean.Even though it’s full of life-giving resources, the country lacks many things we consider to be basic. Ethnic tensions challenge Kenyan society. So are poverty rates. It all threatens the lives of Kenya’s children. And too many kids are born with HIV/AIDS or lose a parent or family member to the disease.
St. Irene Orthodox mission centre Kenya was started in may 2010 by Fr Constantino's Eliud and his presbytera Triza. Our mission has played big role in spreading the Orthodox faith in this community.In the mission centre we offer basic education and feeding programme to orphans and other vulnerable children sponsored by people of goodwill.We offer feeding programme, where we feed children with balance diet to avoid malnutrition.We consider age as well when serving them and when preparing our diet.On health care we invite the health workers who vaccinates our children against outbreak of diseases.We offer basic education from early childhood education, formal learning from class one teaching examinable subjects in Kenya, and catechism about our orthodox faith. We also have physical education P.E.
